Manor, TX – A Texas woman was arrested and charged after nine caged dogs were discovered outside in 104-degree weather, without food or water. According to the Manor Police Department, one of the dogs died.
In a news release, the authorities said, “two of the animals were left in animal sweaters, commonly used to protect animals from cold weather.” Neighbors say the dogs had been left in the sweaters since last winter.
Eyeisha Young is identified as the owner of the dogs – she was arrested and taken to the Travis County Jail. The surviving dogs were taken to an area animal shelter for care.
Young has the right to petition for continued ownership of the dogs; a judge will decide if that happens.
