Breman, GA – Two people are facing charges after abandoning four puppies at a church. The Haralson County Sheriff’s Office issued a public statement about the incident, writing, “On July 16, 2024, the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office was notified by a member of Journey Fellowship Church that puppies that had been abandoned on July 8, 2024.”
Thanks to the efforts of Criminal Investigative Division’s Sgt. Bobby Mullenix, video surveillance footage was obtained, allowing investigators to identify the vehicle and people responsible for the cruel act.
The agency said, “Sgt. Mullenix located the passenger in the vehicle that was throwing the puppies out of the car and had him come into the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office for an interview. The driver of the vehicle was also learned through the investigation and voluntarily came up to the Sheriff’s Office.”
Charged
John McDell Williams, a 56-year-old W/M out of Waco, GA has been arrested and charged with 4 counts of Cruelty to Animals and 1 count of Abandonment of Animals.
Marie Crowder, a 49-year-old W/F out of Temple, GA has also been arrested and charged with 4 counts of Cruelty to Animals and 1 count of Abandonment of Animals.
The puppies were captured and taken to the Haralson County Animal Shelter, The authorities said, “If anyone would like to adopt one of these precious puppies, please reach out to Haralson County Animal Shelter at 770-646-6622.”
