Update: This dog was adopted on the afternoon of 2/19/25. Thanks for sharing!
Fort Worth, Texas – On Valentine’s Day, a young heeler was loaded into a vehicle and driven to the Fort Worth Animal Care & Control facility by his owner. The two-year-old dog was not spoiled on this holiday of love…instead he was left behind, his fate at the mercy of an over-capacity shelter facility where unwanted pets are put down when space and resources become an issue.
Now, the dog known only by a number, ID# 57853094, will lose his life on Thursday (February 20) morning if someone does not come forward to save him.
This unwanted pup’s advocate writes:
A terrified little heeler boy, surrendered & betrayed by owner on Valentine’s Day, will be killed Thursday morning February 20 at Fort Worth Animal Care & Control.
Fort Worth (Haslet), Texas
Nameless
Male, 2 years old, 36 lbs, intact, HW negative
Does he have a name? Certainly, but either the owner didn’t bother providing it, or staff didn’t bother publishing it, like his identity never existed.
Please take a moment and share this dog’s adoption information – time is not on his side.
