Burke County, NC – For weeks, a North Carolina animal shelter pleaded for a loving home for a special needs kitten who kept being overlooked by potential adopters. The Friends for Animals – Humane Society of Burke County describes the medical condition the kitten has, writing:
We all have needs and some have special needs, including our fur babies. We have taken in a precious kitten that has cerebellar hypoplasia, better known as the “wobbly cat syndrome.” This condition is a neurological disorder caused by an interruption in the development of the brain, causing a lack of coordination and movement.
Explaining that Desi is still playful and cuddly,
She is one more awesome, determined little girl that doesn’t let this condition affect her in any way. She walks, jumps, runs (while wobbling) and even tries to climb! What she see the other kittens do, she’s right there with them. She wrestles and plays with them and she is just a delight to watch. Everyone that meets her falls in love as she has the sweetest little personality. She is so soft, very loving and happy to be held and go to sleep while purring.
And though Desi had been overlooked for weeks, the shelter’s plea found its way to the perfect people to take the special tuxedo kitten in. Days ago, the shelter shared the good news with Facebook followers:
Prayers were answered! The most wonderful couple we could ever hope for came today and fell in love with our precious Desi! We are so thankful this special girl will be so loved and cared for! We will miss her so much.
Enjoy your new life Desi!!
