Senior Cat’s World Shattered when Owner Died, Now She Waits to be Loved Again

Watauga County, NC – More than four months ago, Sandy’s owner passed away, shattering her world and leaving her homeless. Now, the senior cat is waiting for someone who will love her for the remainder of her life. According to the Watauga Humane Society, Sandy is a “queen” in every sense of the word.

They write:

(she is) full of personality, strong-willed, and not afraid to make her needs known. And what does she need most? Time. Love. ❤️ A person who understands that her love language is simply being together, even if that just means sitting side by side in quiet companionship.

Explaining the toll that living without a family is taking:

But after 125 days in the shelter, Sandy is struggling. Her appetite has waned ️, her spirit feels heavy , and her golden heart is longing for something we can’t give her—home . A recent vet visit revealed early signs of kidney disease , which is manageable with a special diet, but what she really needs is stability, comfort, and someone to call her own.

The shelter is doing all that they can to keep Sandy happy, but she needs to be in a real home, with someone who will love her. Please share Sandy’s story and help make that dream a reality.
