Senior Cat left At Shelter She Was Adopted From, Man Says,’I have to travel & I’m unable to take the cat with me.”

Orlando, FL – A beautiful cat named Sophia is trying to make sense of her upside-down world. The 11-year-old cat was recently returned to the Orange County animal services facility where she was adopted from two years ago…her adopter told the staff that he was traveling and could not take Sophia with him.

Now Sophia is sitting in a sterile cage – no longer enjoying the comforts of home, or the familiar touch of her owner’s hand.

Albert Harris, the shelter’s photographer, writes of Sophia’s sadness:

This poor 11-year-old senior is confused as she thought she had a home but that’s not the case anymore. She lays in a corner not advancing when someone is interested in her. She does allow to be petted & I told her I will the best I can to get her seen. If you follow me you already know that seniors tend to get overlooked for younger cats & kittens. She watches her neighbors get adopted over here every day that goes by and it’s starting to make her depressed. Besties her last days shouldn’t be in a cold dark kennel alone. She needs someone that will hold her paws during her last moments.

Sophia does not stand a chance without the help of strangers. Please share her story and help her find a loving home to spend the remainder of her life in.
