Reward: Someone Abandoned Dying Dog in Trash Bag

Mobile County, AL – A $2500 reward is offered for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of whoever abandoned a dying dog in a trash bag in Mobile County. The dog, dubbed Chance, was found on March 1 on the side of Henderson Camp Road in Grand Bay.

As reported by AL.com, the dog had been shot in the head before being bagged and dumped. A resident by the name of Brooke Whitehurst got the abandoned dog to a veterinarian in an effort to save Chance’s life, but he died from the traumatic injuries in his brain. A veterinarian determined that Chance had likely suffered for more than a week.

Those who were hoping against hope that Chance would overcome the odds are now hoping that someone will be held responsible. Anyone who has information about this crime should contact the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office.
