Clay County, FL – A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person(s) responsible for throwing a starved dog, locked in a crate, in a creek off the St. Johns River.
As reported by ActionNews Jax, kayakers made the grim discovery, finding the submerged wire crate in a creek off County Road 209. Investigators say the dog, a gray pit bull between two and three years of age, was in the crate that was tied shut. The dog was malnourished and wearing a loose collar, but had no ID and no microchip.
