Police Department Mourns Death of Recently Retired K9

Myrtle Beach, SC – For five years, a German shepherd named Yep worked as a dual-purpose K9 with her handler, PFC. Struckus with the Myrtle Beach Police Department. Over the weekend, the beloved K9 unexpectedly passed away, leaving those who knew her in a state of mourning.

In a Facebook post, the Myrtle Beach Police Department said:

K9 Yep – Gone But Never Forgotten
It is with deep sorrow that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved retired K9, Yep, who left us this afternoon surrounded by friends and family.

Chief Prock says, “Our team and community shares in the loss of Yep. Our K-9 program is an invaluable part of our team and family and Yep will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to PFC. Struckus and our entire Unit.”

Yep’s cause of death was not released.
