Officer Saves Elderly Dog Trapped in Brush in The Snow

Louisville, KY – An elderly dog was saved from a frigid yard in Louisville earlier this week thanks to the efforts of an animal control officer with Louisville Metro Animal Services. According to the agency, the 17-year-old Jack Russell terrier, Connor, was trapped at the bottom of an icy slope and unable to escape.

The agency described Officer Ashley’s rescue mission to save Connor from freezing to death:

Ofc. Ashley carefully made her way down the icy slope and over the fence, following faint whining into the wooded area. There she found Connor, trapped and unable to walk. Ofc Ashley carried his trembling body back up the hill with help from the neighbors and transported him home.

Describing the elderly dog’s relief after being saved:

Back at the house, Connor was placed in front of the warm fireplace. As the heat thawed his tiny body, he nuzzled into his owner’s hand, the bond between them unmistakable. In that moment, with the fire crackling and snow falling outside, Connor was finally safe and loved, just as he’d been for 17 years.

Great job!!
