Mother Tried To Burn Daughter’s Cat Alive On Lit Grill

Moore, OK – A 16-year-old girl had to call the authorities on her own mother after finding her cat trapped in a cat carrier that was placed on a lit grill. According to sources, the cat’s meows led Veronica Carrillo’s daughter to the horrifying discovery – her cat inside of a cat carrier, wrapped in a trash bag, on top of a lit grill.

Clint Byley, with the Moore Police Department, described Carrillo’s daughter’s 911 call, “(The daughter) was very distraught. She spoke about how she believed her mother may have put her cat on the grill.”

Law & Crime details Carrillo’s bizarre comments to responding officers:

“I was cooking out and the cat got burned,” she says, unprompted. “You know what I mean? It had to be done. You know, I’m sorry.” “What had to be done?” the officer asks “I mean, I had to cook,” Carrillo responds.

The cat was rescued but suffered burns from the terrifying ordeal; she is expected to make a full recovery. Carrillo’s neighbors told the police that she has a known substance abuse problem. The woman was booked into jail.
