Miraculous Reunion – Cat Back With Owner 11 Years After Disappearing

Charleston, SC – A South Carolina animal shelter helped reunited a long-last cat with his owner, who had not seen him since he vanished 11 years ago. Sam the cat disappeared after getting spooked by a dog, and his owner, Jennifer Ravenel, had no luck in her exhaustive searches of the area.

Fast forward to August 2024 – someone caught Sam not far from Ravenel’s home. The “stray” cat was taken to the Charleston Animal Society where he was scanned for a microchip. The embedded chip found with a scanner had contact information for Sam’s rightful owner, who was stunned to get the call from shelter staff.

Initially, Ravenel thought the call was a joke, but she soon found out that her long-lost feline friend had been found. She calls Sam a survivor – the wandering cat is safe at home and gaining weight after his decade long adventure away.

Ravenel says that Sam is not interested in going outside, choosing to spend his time at the foot of her bed instead.

Remember to microchip your pets and keep your contact information up to date!
