Richmond, VA – On Wednesday, Richmond Animal Care and Control received a call about a “dead dog” who had been dumped off Riverside Drive. According to the animal welfare agency, the dog was still alive, but in dire condition.

In a social media post, the agency requested prayers, explaining the abandoned dog’s pitiful condition:

RACC Officers responded and discovered the dog was alive (barely) and quickly transported to VVC. The pup is too cold to read a body temperature and has a heart rate of 50.

Asking for prayers:

We are still going to try and save him! Send all your warm, healing and loving prayers his way.

Information is needed to find out who is responsible for the dog’s condition. The shelter named him Riverside and if you recognize him or have any information, please email Robert.Leinberge@rva.gov.
