Man Arrested, Charged With Felonies, After 3 Dogs Died From Starvation

Lexington, NC – A Lexington man is accused of letting several dogs starve to death at his home on Williamson Street. According to the Lexington Police Department, on October 10, officers found two dead dogs, and three live dogs in a small enclosure at Jamal Moore’s residence.

The surviving dogs are taken to the Davidson County Animal Shelter, and one died there.

The 48-year-old man is charged with three counts of felony killing an animal by starvation, two counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty, and five counts of animal abandonment.

Moore was booked into the Davidson County Jail and held under no bond allowed, he is due in Lexington District Court on November 14.
