San Antonio, TX – A suspected dog killer turned a gun on himself when police arrived to his residence with a search warrant. According to sources, police were investigating the dog shootings and evidence led them to a man living at an apartment complex on the 8500 block of Wakefield Drive.
But when the authorities arrived, the suspect barricaded himself inside his apartment and a shot was fired from inside as officers approached. The man was initially presumed dead, but first responders found a pulse after getting to his body. The most recent information indicates that he is in critical condition.
The 45-year-old man, whose identity has not been publicly released, is implicated in the shooting deaths of two dogs in a nearby neighborhood; his motive for killing the dogs is unknown.
