Pasadena, CA – A litter of kittens is safe after someone abandoned them in a box, with no air holes, outside of a closed animal shelter. Pasadena Humane said that a staff member was arriving to work and heard a “faint meowing” from the area of the Animal Resource Center.
Her investigation led her to a taped-up box, with no air holes, and the word “Kittens” written outside.
The animal welfare agency said:
She quickly opened the box to find seven crying kittens inside, luckily all unharmed. We are so thankful that our staff member discovered these tiny kittens in time and that they are now safe in our care.
Fortunately, the kittens were found to be uninjured. However, the shelter staff reminds the public to reach out for help rather than abandoning unwanted pets in potentially unsafe situations.
