Dayton, OH – The promise of a wonderful future has been given to a kitten who suffered horrific burns after a man set him on fire. The kitten, Joffrey, was left fighting for his life after 21-year-old Eric Williams doused him in gasoline and set him on fire in July.
Since that time, Joffrey has been receiving round-the-clock care from the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. This week, the animal welfare agency made a heartwarming announcement about the abused kitten, letting his fans know that Joffrey has been adopted.
The agency said:
Less than a day after returning back to Dayton, a truly heartwarming moment happened when a registered veterinary technician, one of the first to treat Joffrey at the emergency facility he was taken to by police, visited to check on his progress. Moved by his resilience and eager to give him the love he deserved, she filled out an adoption application. She understands the challenges he faces ahead of him, but is determined to provide him with the ongoing care and affection he needs to thrive. That’s right, Joffrey has found a new forever home!
Adding:
As Joffrey embarks on this new chapter of his life with his new family, we are filled with excitement for all the wonderful moments ahead. Thank you, Joffrey, for touching our hearts and showing us all the true meaning of bravery and love.

Over 17,600 people have signed Animal Victory’s petition demanding that Joffrey’s abuser be held accountable for his despicable actions. You can read more, and sign, at this link to the petition.
