Hospitalized Hoarder Alerts Shelter to Hundreds of Animals in Her Ohio Home

Dayton, Ohio – A hoarder reached out to the Humane Association of Warren County for help after being hospitalized. According to sources, the woman admitted that there were “hundreds” of animals in need of care at her home.

Though the woman said there were approximately 200 animals in her home, responding officials found between 300-500 animals, some alive, some dead – conditions at the residence are described as deplorable.

The bulk of the animals are hamsters and mice, but approximately a half dozen huskies were found in the backyard; only one of the dogs was alive when rescuers found them, reports Fox 19.

The self-described hoarder is not facing charges and has not been publicly identified. Anyone hoping to help the shelter care for the hundreds of animals taken in can make a donation. Learn more at this link to the animal welfare agency’s Facebook page.
