Oakland, New Jersey – A gentle, 15-year-old dog is in need of a loving home to spend the remainder of her life in. According to Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, the elderly German shepherd, Priscilla, looks and acts much younger than her advanced age might indicate…aside from her back legs, which do not function well.

The animal welfare agency explains:

She’s been started on medications and supplements for her severe arthritis as well as a diet to lose some weight to improve her comfort and mobility, but at some point she won’t be able to walk at all. She has a hard time getting up once she’s been laying down for too long and slippery surfaces/stairs are not her friend but once she gets moving she enjoys her walks.

Priscilla has a lovely personality and is friendly with everyone, even kittens:

She passed her cat and dog tests with flying colors, frantically wagging her tail and trying to make friends with kittens and little dogs especially. She’s a perfect sweetheart who we have fallen in love with and she deserves the best of care and pampering for whatever quality time she has left.
