Tampa, FL – On Wednesday morning, a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper rescued a dog who had been tied to a pole on Interstate 75 near Tampa. In a post on X, the authorities chastised anyone who would consider doing something so heartless.
Video of the incident shows a frightened dog tethered to a pole – the dog can be heard growling, to which the trooper states, “It’s okay, I don’t blame you.” By the time the dog was discovered, water had risen to his chest.

Hurricane Milton is currently barreling towards Florida as a Category 5 storm with winds topping 155-mph. Residents have been ordered to evacuate huge portions of the state and officials have advised them to take their pets with them.
Whoever abandoned this dog would be responsible for his death had the trooper not spotted him. Thank you, Florida Highway Patrol!
