Family’s Elderly Dog Run Over And Killed By Amazon Delivery Driver

Calvert County, Maryland – A Maryland family’s elderly dog was killed in their own driveway when an Amazon driver ran her over and left without even telling them about her death. As reported by NBC Washington, the tragic incident happened last Tuesday when an Amazon delivery driver ran over 15-year-old Starr, a Weimaraner, with a delivery van.

Starr’s owner, Danielle Von Oehsen, said that “she was like one of our children.”

Her husband Harry describes what home surveillance captured on video, “You can see the guy driving over her, or reversing over her and then coming back onto her again.”

When the family tried to find Starr, they discovered that she was grievously injured and barely clinging to life. She passed away shortly thereafter. Harry said, “I was trying to keep her alive patting her, calming her down, and then I brought her in the garage trying to get her to be OK, and then she just died.”

Amazingly, the family says that Amazon offered them a windchime and a $5 credit upon learning of Starr’s death.

The incident has been reported to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and an investigation is underway.
