Update 8/20/2024 5:45 p.m. – The victim’s car and one deceased dog have been found. One dog was reunited with its owner and the other dogs, and the suspect, are still missing.
Seattle, WA – On Tuesday morning, a beloved neighborhood dog walker was killed in a carjacking incident and the suspect is still on the loose. According to sources, the deadly incident left an 80-year-old woman dead and several dogs who were in her car at the time are still missing.
The carjacking happened around 10 a.m. near Martin Luther King Jr. Way East and East Harrison Street. The suspect fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, dragging the woman as he drove away.
Bystanders tried to save the woman’s life, to no avail. Seattle Police Detective Eric Munoz told KIRO Newsradio’s Sam Campbell, “They intervened heroically. They couldn’t save her. There were multiple bystanders that were there trying to stop this crime from occurring.”
