San Bernardino, CA – A dog is on a euthanasia list at the San Bernardino City Animal Control after being found tied to an office chair, while wearing a pink harness, in July. The three-year-old German shepherd, Chato, has a registered owner, but that person has decided to ignore calls from the shelter.
Now Chato is nearly out of time – about to be killed through no fault of his own. His advocate writes:
ON EUTHANASIA LIST
Found with a pink harness on tied to an office chair. Passersby ignored his pleas for help for several hours before someone called animal control on 7/10/24. Chato #a567464 had a registered owner, but the owner did not respond to calls from City of San Bernardino Animal Services that he was picked up and brought to the shelter.
Describing Chato’s amicable demeanor:
By all accounts, this 3 years old 66 pound dog is a good boy. He lowered his head and sniffed the officer’s hand, allowing him to leash him and load him on to the animal control truck without incident. Why he was chosen to be added to the euthanasia list for 8/14/24 is a mystery, but this is their plan.
Please take a moment to network Chato’s adoption information. Your share may be the one to save his life. Thank you!
