Cat Survives Nearly Two Months In Sewer

Duluth, MN – A resourceful cat managed to stay alive after nearly two months of being trapped in a Duluth sewer. According to Kare 11 News, Drifter went on an outdoor adventure on July 18 and vanished.

Drifter’s owners, Clifton Nesseth and Ashley Comstock, desperately searched the area, hoping to find their three-year-old cat, but they were coming up empty-handed…until some kids in the neighborhood said they had heard meowing from a storm drain not far away, reports Newsweek.

The family set out to find their cat and they were met with success at a nearby construction site where his meows could be heard below ground. With some digging, Drifter was finally unearthed – underweight, but alive and grateful to be found.

Drifter likely kept himself alive by catching mice and drinking water in the sewer system. He is recovering from his adventure and happy to be home!
