Man Arrested For Throwing Injured Cat In Dumpster

Mission Viejo, CA – On Wednesday, officials with Mission Viejo Animal Services announced the arrest of the man caught on surveillance video abandoning an injured cat in a dumpster near the 25000 block of Cabot Road in Laguna Hills. The man’s identity has not been publicly released.

Mission Viejo Animal Services Supervisor Kyle Werner said:

“Through our social media, the cat owner came forward and identified the man was her roommate seen in the video, and we conducted an investigation and have probable cause that the suspect was in violation of animal cruelty.”

The cat, dubbed Willow, had extensive injuries, but she is expected to recover. Amazingly, she is still affectionate despite her physical and emotional pain. Mission Viejo Animal Services said:

“Despite this heartbreaking betrayal, Willow continues to show immense affection to the veterinary staff caring for her, purring and seeking comfort from those providing her with kindness and affection.”
