Warren, Ohio – A puppy is safely back in his family’s care after falling into a well near his home. According to the Champion Township Fire Department, the pup fell into the 7-foot deep well earlier this week, prompting his family to call for help.

Engine 21 and Truck 21 responded and found the six-month-old pug, Tater, in a well; the well’s cover had fallen in. The fire crews were able to retrieve the puppy, who was uninjured from the frightening ordeal.

The department writes:

The puppy was extricated with no injuries and given to his best friend who was anxiously waiting.
