Department Honors ‘Good Boy’ Who has Passed Away

Marietta, GA – Over the weekend, the Marietta Police Department bid adieu to a retired K9 who recently passed away. According to the department, K9 Atos retired from the department in 2022 and spent his days “lounging around the yard and house” at the home of his former handler, with Officer Johnson, and his family.

Atos was born October 29, 2013, and started his K9 career with the Marietta Police Department in March of 2015. K9 Atos worked as a dual-purpose canine trained in narcotics detection, tracking, evidence recovery and criminal apprehension.

The agency said, “K9 Atos loved to work and serve our community. He was loyal, dedicated, goofy, and sweet.” Adding, “You were both a fine police officer and a good boy!”

Rest easy Atos.
