Firefighters Save Horse Who Fell Through Ice

Loveland, CO – This weekend, a horse was rescued after falling through ice at the Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch on County Road 31D. According to the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, the firefighters used “used rescue straps and a lot of muscle” to pull the horse from the ice.

It took a few moments after being pulled from the frigid water for the horse to stand, but she was finally able to walk on her own and made her way to a barn to warm up.

According to comments on the fire department’s social media page, the horse, Bella Boo, is doing “ok” and she is being “a trooper.”

Great work firefighters!!
