Philadelphia, PA – A beautiful dog, described by those who know her as the “sweetest soul,” is deteriorating at a Philadelphia shelter where she has been bypassed by adopters for more than a year. The dog, Oreo, has a wonderful personality, making her a wonderful fit for most any home.

The Pennsylvania SPCA writes:

She’s a bundle of love, always excited to greet new friends or other dogs. She’s simply happy to share her world with her friends, whether that means going on adventures or simply curling up in their laps.

But this bundle of love has no one to share her affection with, and it is taking a toll. The shelter writes, “She paces in her kennel, paws rubbing raw from the endless steps. The toll that kennel life is taking on her is heartbreaking – she’s been waiting so long, for reasons unknown to us.”

Oreo does not want much. She wants to leave her kennel and join a home. She wants to have toys of her own, a soft bed to snuggle in, and someone to give her love. Oreo deserves all this and more.
