Vancouver, WA – A skeletal German shepherd is in good hands after being found by Door Dashers in Vancouver. According to the I Paw’d if Forward rescue group, the emaciated shepherd was evaluated at a veterinarian who determined his body condition to be a zero on a scale of 0-5. The two-year-old dog has no muscle or body fat and weighs just 31.8 lbs.

In a social media post, the organization said, “We are so grateful that the young people out doordashing didn’t give up trying to reach out for help last night. We are grateful they didn’t see this pup and drive by. We are grateful they realized the severity and sought help. If you see something, say something.”

Without knowing the dog’s history, it is difficult to know why he is so thin – was it abuse or neglect? Assumptions cannot be made until more is known.

In the meantime, this dog is in good hands, getting the care he so desperately needs.
