Del Norte County, CA – A missing man’s pets have been found at a California campsite. According to the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office, 47-year-old Eric Campbell’s two dogs and a cat, as well as his vehicle and campsite, were located by his family who reported him missing Wednesday evening.
In the Redheaded Blackbelt publication, it has been reported that Campbell’s truck was found with the hood up, indicating possible engine problems. For reasons unknown, Campbell left his pets behind.
In the authorities’ Sept. 21 update, it was announced that air searches would be resuming the next day.
Tomorrow will be some air operations again. We ask that folks stay clear of the area to give searchers and family space. A huge thank you to Dan Bratton and the CHP for the assistance with their helicopters. Also a big thank you to all of the assisting SAR teams and Law Enforcement that have come to help with ground searches and drone operations.
Eric Campbell was camping in the Patrick Creek area on the banks of the Middle Fork Smith River before he disappeared.
