Cat Travels Over 800 Miles Towards Home After Being Lost In Yellowstone

Roseville, CA – A cat who disappeared in Yellowstone National Park managed to travel over 800 miles back towards home before being found by someone and scanned for a microchip in Roseville. As reported by KSBW News, Benny and Susanne Anguiano’s cat Rayne Beau vanished during a camping trip and their efforts to find him were fruitless.

After days of walking the forests and leaving out treats and toys with the hope of luring him back, the couple had to leave for their Salinas home. Susanna Anguiano tells the news agency, “We had to leave without him. That was the hardest day because I felt like I was abandoning him.”

Fast forward sixty days – Pet Watch contacted the couple to let them know that their cat’s microchip had been scanned at the SPCA in Roseville. Rayne Beau had lost weight and was tired from his ordeal…but amazingly alive.

The couple hopes that someone might recognize their cat and help explain how he got all the way from Yellowstone to Roseville. And they hope everyone will make sure their own pets are microchipped. Susanne said, “We would have never gotten them back had that not happened.”

Be sure to keep contact information current on all microchip registrations!
