France – Animal lovers worried about the fate of late actor Alain Delon’s dog, Loubo, can rest easy. The French actor requested that his Belgian Malinois be euthanized and buried with him, but widespread outcry over the man’s request has prompted Delon’s family to deny Delon’s unusual request.
On Tuesday, the Brigitte Bardot Foundation assured the public that Loubo would be spared death, posting to X:
No worries for Loubo! Many of you have sent us messages regarding the future of Loubo, Alain Delon’s dog. “He has his home and his family” confirmed the actor’s relatives who will take care of him. Loubo will of course not be euthanized!
In 2018, Delon had told the Paris Match magazine,
“I’ve had 50 dogs in my life, but I have a special relationship with this one. If I die before him, I’ll ask the vet to take us away together. He’ll put him to sleep in my arms.”
Thankfully Loubo will be able to live out the remainder of his life in his late guardian’s Douchy residence.
