Elderly Dog Euthanized Because Of Extreme Neglect By Owner

Cape Coral, FL – On August 15, a frail, dehydrated dog named Molly was euthanized because her condition was so poor that she could not be saved. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, her condition is the fault of her owner, – – .

In a release, Sheriff Carmine Marceno said, “It sickens me that this sweet dog, , was just trying to live out her golden years but instead was treated so poorly by this . I have absolutely zero tolerance for anyone who thinks it is okay to force any animal to live in this condition.”

Describing the extraordinarily poor condition Molly was in:

The Female labrador mix, named Molly, was overly thin and fragile, severely dehydrated with her blood pressure too low to be registered, had burns on her skin from sitting in urine for an extended period of time, and had maggots crawling both in and around her body.

Urquizo was detained and the authorities searched his residence, finding a malnourished cat named Ladybug. The cat was seized and taken to Blue Pearl for treatment.

Deputies who went to the residence found deplorable conditions inside:

ACTF investigations found that these two animals were forced to live in uninhabitable conditions, as the entirety of the house was covered in animal feces.

Jonathan Urquizo was charged with and issued a citation by LCDAS for . Unlike his pets, he was given a clean place to stay at the Marceno Motel.
