Round Rock, TX – Earlier this month, a bobcat kitten was rescued after being observed playing with packages on a homeowner’s porch. The Round Rock Police Department posted about the incident on X, writing:
Yesterday, our animal control officers responded to a call in reference to a bobcat kitten playing with packages on a resident’s front porch.
The mischievous little feline was safely transported to a local wildlife rehabilitator, where it will receive “purrsonalized” VIP (Very Important Predator) treatment until it’s old enough to be released.
The two-month-old feline was captured and taken to All Things Wild Rehabilitation. Experts believe the kitten’s mother was killed and the bobcat was too young to survive on its own.
Tragically, time without a mother’s care took a deadly toll on the kitten, who was too emaciated to survive. The rehabilitation center let the public know that the kitten did not make it:
It is with a heavy heart that we have to tell you that the young bobcat kitten that came in last week passed away overnight. Organ failure had simply taken over from extreme emaciation. We certainly don’t like days like this as there is a bit of sadness throughout the center.
Rest easy little one.
