Suicidal Man Left Note Asking For His Dog To Be Taken Care Of Before He Was Fatally Shot

BEAUMONT, TX – A suicidal man penned a note asking for his dog, Buddy, to be taken care of before he had a fatal encounter with the Beaumont Police on Monday. As reported by 12 News Now, 68-year-old Charles Carrol handwrote a note and put it in a Ziploc bag attached to his Labrador retriever’s collar before he had was shot by the police after brandishing a gun.

Buddy was taken to the Beaumont animal shelter where he was quickly adopted by a man who wanted a friend for his other dog.

The shelter let the public know as soon as Buddy was adopted, writing:

While we are so happy Buddy was able to find a home so quickly, we currently have over 100 animals at our shelter still waiting for their chance for a family. So those 50+ who submitted an application, please still come by the shelter to visit those still waiting.
