Savannah, MO – A police K9 with the Savannah Police Department is dead after being left in a vehicle following an overnight shift last week. According to sources, the German shepherd, Horus, died from “complications” resulting from being left in the vehicle.
Horus was welcomed to the department in early 2021. He was partnered with Sergeant Zeigler.
According to KCTV, the incident is under investigation, but is currently being considered an accident.
Comments being left on the department’s Facebook page reflect a great deal of anger at the person who left Horus in the vehicle.
