Game Commission Issues Alert After Dog Treats Stuffed With Fishing Hooks Discovered

Lehigh County, PA – The Pennsylvania Game Commission has issued an alert to dog owners and hikers after a disturbing discovery was made near the George W. Outerbridge shelter on the Appalachian Trail. According to a release from the agency, dog treats stuffed with fishing hooks were found near the North Trail Loop leading to the shelter, on State Game Lands #217, in Washington Township, Lehigh County.

The agency writes:

Items like these could prove deadly to any animal that consumes them, including wild and domesticated animals.

The agency is hoping that someone will come forward with information. And anyone who finds more of the dangerous dog treats is asked to make a report:
