UPDATE! The following information was just shared by the shelter, “Scooby JUST went into a Foster-To-Adopt less than an hour ago. However, since it’s the first day, we are waiting to see how things go. We will keep you all updated, thank you so much for your patience.”
Kansas City, KS – A dog is deteriorating quickly at a Kansas animal shelter. The dog, named Scooby, is so stressed that he is suffering panic attacks and needs to be heavily medicated.
On Friday, the Great Plains SPCA shared Scooby’s plight, explaining that if he does not get adopted, or find a long-term foster, by October 9, they may have to consider humane euthanasia.
Scooby is suffering from severe shelter stress. If we cannot find an adopter or long-term foster by October 9th, three days from now, we will have to consider humane euthanasia.
Scooby has been at the shelter facility for more than 300 days, with only one “meet and greet” during that time and no long-term foster prospects. Scooby has been featured in Newsweek and repeatedly featured on the shelter’s social media platforms, but nothing has resulted in the help Scooby needs.
The shelter said:
Scooby needs a home:
As the only pet
With no kids
Outlining the perks to help Scooby find a home.
Great Plains SPCA and all of Scooby’s supporters are offering:
FEE WAIVED Adoption
Crate
$250 of Preventative
$250 of Scooby’s Food
4 Onsite Behavior Consultations with our Behavior Team
Martingale Collar, Easy-Walk Harness & Leash
12 Months of Pet Insurance provide by Companion Protect
Please help save Scooby’s life. He is suffering from the stress and he needs help now. Even if you cannot foster or adopt Scooby you can still help him by sharing his story. Someone out there is in the position to give this dog the home that he needs and deserves.
Please do not contact Animal Victory about this dog. Reach out to the shelter directly for all inquiries. Contact aflores@greatplainsspca.org to adopt or foster.
