Boulder County, Colorado – Police in Boulder County have arrested a man suspected of killing a German shepherd whose body was found in Coal Creek Canyon in June. The discovery of the young dog’s body sparked an animal cruelty investigation which led the police to the arrest of Anthony Holliday.

In early July, the authorities issued a release about the discovery of a young, male, neutered German shepherd on the side of a private road off Coal Creek Canyon Road in unincorporated Boulder County. The police said the dog’s body had “multiple injuries.”

Game cameras captured a suspicious vehicle which aided investigators to the suspect.

This week, the police said:

Animal Control Officer Streit has been diligently working on an animal cruelty case after a deceased German Shepherd was found on the side of the road in Coal Creek Canyon.
Due to all her hard work, she was able to identify a suspect, and obtained a felony arrest warrant for the charge of Aggravated Animal Cruelty. The suspect, Anthony Holliday, was arrested by Denver Police Department last week on the warrant.

Holliday had another German shepherd in his possession when he was arrested. The dog was seized and turned over to a Boulder area animal shelter for care.
