Lonely Shelter Dog, It Is Hard To Be Happy After Two Years Without A Home

Wantagh, NY – It is hard to be happy when you have been homeless for two long years. A dog named G5 has been calling a lonely kennel run at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter “home,” but it is painfully obvious that he wants more.

Once upon a time, G5 had a home. He was picked up as a stray in 2017, but his owner came forward to reclaim him. In 2021, he was discovered in an abandoned home with squatters; held in a crate without food, water, or a blanket.

Fast forward to 2023…G5, now a senior dog at nine years of age, is living the twilight of his life in a shelter and losing all hope of ever having freedom or love in his life.

You can help change G5’s sad fate by sharing his adoption information. Somewhere out there is the perfect person for this dog!

G5’s forever home wishlist:
no other dogs or cats
patient & dog savvy adopters
a quiet home without a lot of foot traffic
if any kids in the home, need to be at least 17 years of age
